FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What are the times for Waterfront Basics and Lashing / Ladder Testing?
A: 8 AM - 430 PM. They are at Waterfront Training Centre at Mitchell Island.
Q: What do I need for my lashing practice?
A: Lashing practice is a 1 hour session, and you need to bring your Medical and Audio forms, as well as your Liability Waiver, along with CSA approved steel toed boots and 2 pieces of ID.
Q: Is lashing practice / Waterfront basics and testing paid days?
A: No they are not. Your 8 days of skills training are your paid days.
Q: What happens if I need more lashing practice?
A: Finish your first lashing practice session. If you need more practice after, we will schedule another date with you then. If you sign up for more than one session, you will be removed from all of them.
Q: What are Waterfront basics?
A: Waterfront basics is two days of classwork on information pertaining to the longshore industry. You will go over many different topics, such as the different types of work / machinery, WHMIS, etc. The last day will include an open book test that you must past in order to proceed with your recruitment.
